本研究プロジェクトは、過去30年間に日本で起こった様々な経済現象が、所得格差に与えた影響を分析することを目的としている。経済現象が所得格差に与える影響を、データから直接識別することは難しいが、本研究では構造推定の手法を用いることでこれを克服することを目指している。構造推定を行うために、まずは過去30年間における所得格差の推移を分析する必要がある。そのため、まずは日本における所得格差の分析において最も頻繁に用いられる、全国消費実態調査と国民生活基礎調査のデータを分析する。まずは内閣府経済社会総合研究所の研究プロジェクトの一環として、これまでに全国消費実態調査のデータを用いて所得格差を分析した。その分析結果はHori et al. (2020)としてまとめ、内閣府経済社会総合研究所のDiscussion Paper Seriesとして公表されている。本年度は主に国民生活基礎調査のデータを用いて所得格差の分析を行った。国民生活基礎調査のデータを用いて計算された格差指標の値は、全国消費実態調査のデータを使って計算された格差指標の値よりも高く出ることが知られている。これは、抽出された標本の偏りのためであると考えられており、本研究プロジェクトでは、国勢調査の個票データを使い、この偏りを補正することを試みている。既に国民生活基礎調査のデータを使った分析の結果は出ており、論文にまとめる作業に取り組んでいる。全国消費実態調査を用いた分析で得られた結果と整合的な部分、不整合な部分があり、その原因に関する考察を加え、ESRIセミナーで研究報告を行って有識者から貴重なコメントを得た。そのコメントを論文に反映させ、近日中にESRI Discussion Paper Seriesとして公表予定である。
