本研究の目的は、インターネット等で一般向けに宣伝・販売されている遺伝子検査キット（以下DTC遺伝子検査）を対象に、ウェブ上のクチコミに内容分析と、国内外の規制対応に関する動向を追いながら、DTC遺伝子検査の提供について現状を整理し、課題を明らかにすることである。2022年度は2021年度で国外の規制対応に関する動きを行った結果から、遺伝専門職に対する見解を確認するために文献等で調査した。そのため当初の研究計画の順序を変更して作業を進めた。その結果、諸外国、特に米国・カナダでは遺伝専門職（臨床遺伝専門医、認定遺伝カウンセラー）に対して、DTC遺伝子検査の提供体制に関する現状の懸念事項を述べた調査がいくつか確認された。遺伝専門職は提供体制について、倫理的、法的に懸念を抱えている傾向があった。
