本研究は、「住宅確保の支援」と「生活の支援」をあわせて「居住支援」と定義し、住宅確保要配慮者といえるひとり親世帯について、生活の自立に向けた居住を中心とする支援モデルの提案を行うものである。目的は、ひとり親世帯の住居の確保およびその後の生活、また支援のネットワークの実態から自立支援のあり方を考察し、今後のひとり親世帯の研究に対して住居学的観点からみた基礎的資料として寄与することである。2022年度は第一に、ひとり親世帯の住まいに関して自治体による実態把握の現状を明らかにすることを目的として、都道府県および政令指定都市が実施するひとり親世帯の生活実態調査の最新の公表結果を分析した。その結果、住居に関する調査内容は少ないが、主な調査項目は住居形態、月額家賃、公営住宅への入居希望等であり、一方で震災被災地域の自治体では、住宅の被災状況や震災前後の住居の状況等の実態把握が行われていることが確認された。第二に、居住支援法人の活動実態および他機関や団体との連携の状況を明らかにすることを目的として、東京都区内にて５つの居住支援法人を対象にヒアリング調査を実施した。その結果、主な支援対象をひとり親世帯とする１つの団体は、住宅確保については地域の不動産会社と連携し、また公営住宅に関しては応募書類作成の支援を行っていることが確認され、地域のボランティアとも連携し要支援世帯を継続的に支援していることが明らかとなった。第三に、居住支援法人の支援を受けたひとり親世帯の実態を明らかにすることを目的として、前述した居住支援法人１団体の支援を受けて実際に区内に住宅を確保した母子３世帯を対象にヒアリング調査を実施した。その結果、母子世帯は地域のボランティアである大家が所有する物件または公営住宅に入居でき、継続的な生活支援も享受していることがわかり、地域におけるセーフティネットの重要性が確認された。
