本研究では、高齢者施設入居者間のコミュニケーションに着目し、粘土対話法を導入することによって、高齢者間の発話行動や自発的な表現活動、情動機能の活性化について、心理・行動・生理的指標から検討し、高齢者のQOL(生活の質)を向上させるための心理的支援策の開発に役立てることを目的とした。令和４年度は、高齢者施設での調査を予定していたが、新型コロナウイルス感染症（COVID-19）の影響により、高齢者施設での調査の受け入れが困難な状況にあったため、調査の実施には至らなかった。そのため、令和５年度の調査実施に向けて、調査協力施設職員の協力を得たうえで、調査実施計画を見直した。また、高齢者施設における粘土対話法の開発に向けて、調査協力施設職員より高齢者施設におけるレクリエーション活動を中心に聞き取りを行い、心理・行動評価表と生理的指標、調査実施後に施設職員から実施結果のフィードバックを受けるために作成したインタビューガイドの一部に修正を加えた。さらに、複数の成人健常者を対象に粘土対話法を試験的に実施し、調査実施の手順について確認を行った。その際、生理的指標として用いる携帯型脳活動計測装置を調査協力者に装着してもらい、条件の差による脳血流量の変化を測定・分析した。なお、本報告の執筆時点では、調査協力施設において調査の受け入れが認められたため、令和５年度に粘土対話法を実施し、その有用性を心理・行動・生理的指標から検証する予定である。調査結果で得られた成果については、学会や学術論文等で発表する。
