近年、知的生産性の向上や健康の維持のために適度な休憩が推奨されており、休息効果を高める環境の研究が進んでいる。一方、従業員規模が29人以下の小規模オフィスのうち、50.1％が休憩室を設置していないので、自席休憩せざるを得ないのが現状である。しかし、自席休憩に焦点を当てた研究は少ない。本研究では、小規模オフィスの自席において、リラックスとリフレッシュそれぞれに対し適切な視環境要素を把握することを目的とし、VRを使用した被検者実験を行った。その結果、以下の知見が得られた。リラックス、リフレッシュおよび総合満足度は、植物の有無で有意差が認められ、植物があると評価が高くなる。リラックスは植物がある状態かつ、パーティションは高めが求められ、リフレッシュも植物がある状態かつ、パーティションはやや高めが求められる。総合満足度は植物がある状態かつ、中程度のパーティションが求められ、モチベーションが評価に影響している可能性が考えられる。
