本研究では,新貿易理論における非物理的距離の概念について,その理論的な意味づけを再検討し拡張することを目的としている．従来の新貿易理論を用いた研究では,広義での輸送費用を引き下げる,あるいは引き上げる,国境やFTA,共通言語などの要因が,非物理的な「距離」,すなわち非物理的距離要因として用いられてきた.特に農産物貿易においては,農産物の財の特徴として,財の質の低下速度が速く,重量あたり単価が低いために相対的に輸送費用が高い,等の理由から,他産業と比較しても,最も距離のもつ意味が重要である.本研究では,非物理的距離要因に着目し,非物理的距離要因について理論的に検討する.具体的には,非物理的距離要因が,物理距離換算でどの程度離れた場合と同じくらいの影響をもつのかを検証するために,非物理的距離要因を物理距離に換算して定式化するフレームワークを構築し,非物理的距離要因のうち,何が最も貿易の阻害要因となるかを明らかにする.2022年度は，物理距離のみを距離要因として用いた分析のベースラインとなるモデルを構築し，比較的宗教上の理由などで貿易が制限されることが少ない緑茶を対象としてプロトタイプモデルの分析を行った．また，この分析結果を27th Pacific Regional Science Conferenceにて報告を行い，そこでの討論を踏まえて論文の執筆を行っている．

This paper discusses the non-physical concept of distance in the new trade theory and its theoretical implications. The new trade theory has been applied to study the transportation cost of the country, the border, FTA, common speech, non-physical distance, and non-physical distance. In particular, agricultural trade is characterized by the fact that the quality of agricultural products is low, the speed is high, the weight is low, the transportation cost is high, and other reasons are important. In this study, non-physical distances are based on theoretical considerations, and non-physical distances are based on theoretical considerations.
