患者から得られた神経芽腫の余剰検体から初代培養細胞株を作成した。昨年の途中から培養液にHCGなどの成長因子を添加することで、作成効率の上昇がみられた。添加後の４検体中、２検体の初代培養細胞が２継代以上の継代が可能であった。この１検体に対して、薬剤感受性試験を行うことができた。エトポシド、ビンクリスチン、ゲムシタビンなど計１２種の薬剤を投与して、その効果をインキュサイトで比較検討した。それぞれの薬剤濃度に関しては、当大学薬学部の協力のもと、算出した適正濃度を投与している。その結果、ドセタキセルやイリノテカン、アクチノマイシンＤなどに効果を示し、一方でドキソルビシンやビンクリスチンなどでは効果は認めなかった。このことから、この患者の腫瘍に効果的な薬剤が判明し、その薬剤を投与することで効果的な治療ができる可能性が示唆された。今回、臨床で同様の治療はできないため、立証することができないが、今後、臨床との相互性を検証していく必要があると考えている。
