英文摘要
Comonomers and monomers are used as dental restorative materials. Unconverted com-pounds can be released from dental composites and can enter the body in humans. The up-take, distribution, and excretion of (co)monomers have been elucidated in animal studies. In the metabolism of these (co)monomers the formation of toxic intermediates as epoxides were detected. Epoxy-compounds are regarded as toxic compounds and they can influence the redoxhomöstasis in the cells.Due to the potential reactivity of epoxides and their consecutive reactions, in this study the effect of antioxidans on the reduction of DNA damages caused by epoxides and (co)monomers eluted from commercially available and experimental composites should be examined in human cells. This research application represents a cooperation ap-plication. In all joint studies identical dental materials, identical cells and identical manufactur-ing processes for the production of e.g. eluates from dental materials are used.
