本研究の目的は、初回精神病エピソードから5年以内の臨界期（以下、臨界期）の統合失調症者の訪問ケアに困難を感じている訪問看護師を対象にした「臨界期にある統合失調症者を訪問する訪問看護師の自律性を高める教育プログラム」（以下、本プログラム）を構築し、実施・評価する。さらにグループスーパービジョンを導入したフォローアップ研修をへて有用性を確認したうえで、プログラムを開発する。臨界期は、最も脆弱性が高く、自傷や自殺、再発、家族機能の低下などさまざまな問題が生じやすい。この時期に訪問看護が適切に提供されることは「治療中断」を防ぐことに繋がり、患者や家族の安寧の維持や、患者の地域生活の維持にも繋がり、本研究の意義といえる。2022年度研究計画は、＜研究1＞の実施予定であった臨界期にある統合失調症者を対象に訪問看護を提供している訪問看護師の自律性を高める教育プログラム（案）を作成し、パイロット研究を実施した。
