本研究の目的は、バス運転者の疲労とその関連要因間の関係を明らかにすることである。本年度は、疲労の関連要因について改めて整理した。バス関係者からバス運転者が現在置かれている状況について話を聞き、文献検討とも合わせて調査項目についての検討を加えることとした。バス運転者に特有な疲労の要因と考えられることとして、乗客への対応に関すること、道路・交通状況、出張を伴う業務が多いことなどが挙げられた。乗客への対応に関することでは、Zhihaoらが乗客対応によるストレスが、情緒面での疲労と精神面での疲労に影響を与えることを明らかにしている。また、道路・交通状況については、野沢らによると道幅、人道・車道との分離、交通量などが運転作業の負担を生じるとのことである。疲労の評価指標についても検討を行っている。特に、乗客対応によるストレスについては、Zhihaoらは適切な尺度が見つからず、著者が作成した質問を使用したとのことであった。感情労働尺度を用いることも考えているが、看護師やコールセンターを対象とした感情労働尺度はあるものの、運転者を対象とした尺度は見つかっていないため、さらに検討を進めたい。対象者については、特定のバス会社への依頼の他、バス運転者の関係団体への依頼、バス運転者が多く集まる大型バス駐車場で参加者を募ることなどを候補に入れることを検討中である。市街地を走る路線バスか、長距離を走る宿泊を伴う貸切バスの運転者かなどの対象の特性や、繁忙期か閑散期かなどの調査時期により、疲労の要因が異なると考えられる。今後、さらに検討を加えたいと考えている。
