2022年度は本研究の中核となるパフォーマンス－環境相互流れモデルを提案するための基礎的な研究となる論文化に成功した。を継続した。この研究は、2015年から2019年の間にMLBで 投球した639人の投手をBaseball Savantから取得し、ボール・ストライクカウントと投手のリリースポイント（ボールを放す三次元位置）、リリース速度、ボールの回転数の関係性を検討するというものである。結果としては、ボールカウントの増加に伴い、投手のリリースポイントは低くなり、前方に移動する傾向がみられた。ストライクカウントの増加に伴い、投手のリリースポイントは（右利きの投手の場合）左側になるという傾向がみられる。また、ボールカウントが増加する につれて、リリース速度は遅くなり、ボールの回転数は低下する。ストライクカウントが増加するにつれて、リリース速度は速くなり、ボールの回転数が増加するというものであった。また、研究時に集積したデータを別角度から分析し、MLB投手の各球種（4-seamなど）の平均的な球速やリリースポイント、ボール回転数、ボールの変化量を算出し論文化した。この研究ではトップレベルの投手の現状理解や各球種の基礎的情報の共有を行うことが出来、本研究における介入結果もこのデータとの比較を行うことで、更に有益なものとなることが予想される。2023年度は介入研究を行い、データを分析し発表を行う予定である。
