宗教において「器」は、それ自体は聖性を備えないものの、内容物との関係において様々な意味を発揮する巧妙な道具という役割を持つ。本研究は、人間の聖なるものとの関係をどのように構築したのかを「器」に着目することによって明らかにすることを目的としている。そのために本年度は以下のような調査研究を実施した。１．事前協議―2022年9月に研究代表者（加島）、研究分担者（泉武夫、長岡龍作、岡林孝作、大島幸代、大塚恵俊）が本年度のインド(2021年度繰り越し分調査）及び東南アジア（本年度分調査）での現地調査に関して協議を行なう。２．現地調査―研究代表者の統括のもと、研究分担者による現地調査をインド（2022年12月）と東南アジア（2023年3月）に実施した。本延文の東南アジアにおけ現地調査ではマレーシア・ケダ―州のブジャンバレー仏教遺跡とその出土品を収蔵しているマレーシア国立博物館及びシンガポール国立博物館を現地調査し、舎利容器をはじめとする出土器物の納置場所と納置方法を調査し、その性格と用途の解明に努めた。３．関連遺品調査―上記２の現地調査の関連遺品調査として東京国立博物館をはじめとする日本国内の所蔵先において東南アジア発見の宗教器物の調査を行なった。４．収集データの整理と解析―２の現地調査、３の関連遺品調査による収集データを整理・解析し、器物の形・素材・図様からその原型を跡づけ、原型である容器の用途や意味を明らかにすることを試みた。５．検討会の開催―４の収集データの整理・解析終了後、研究代表者及び研究分担者による検討会を開催し、研究成果について協働で解析し、問題点を整理して次年度の研究に備えた。

Religion is a "tool", a "self", and a "tool". This study focuses on the relationship between human and nature. This year's survey was carried out. 1. Prior agreement-In September 2022, the research representative (Kajima) and research contributors (Takeo Izumi, Ryusaku Nagaoka, Takasaku Okabayashi, Yukiyo Oshima, and Etoshi Otsuka) will enter into an agreement regarding this year's in-situ survey (2021 Soriyoshi sub-survey) and the on-site survey in Southeast Asia (this year's sub-survey). 2. Field investigation-conducted by the director of the research representative and the research contributor (December 2022) and Southeast Asia (March 2023) In this paper, the Southeast China University of Science and Technology has conducted an on-site investigation on the archaeological relics of the state, the National Museum of Science and Technology and the National Museum of Science and Technology, and investigated the storage place and storage method of the unearthed objects, the characteristics and uses of the objects. 3. Related Heritage Survey-Survey of Related Heritage in the Field Survey of No. 2 above and Survey of Religious Artifacts Found in Southeast Asia in Japan 4. Collection data sorting and analysis-2. Field investigation; 3. Related product investigation; Collection data sorting and analysis; Prototype design; Prototype design; Use of container; Meaning; 5. Opening of the review meeting-4. After the collection and analysis, the review meeting of the research representative and the research contributor is opened, the research results are analyzed, and the problem points are organized and prepared for the next year.
