本年度は、①米沢藩・秋田藩・熊本藩等の諸藩に関する史料調査を実施するとともに、②近世の「富国」論について考察する上で重要な「仁政」思想・諸政策に関する文献の収集、史料翻刻や研究データ作成や検討を進め、③それらの成果も踏まえた、近世近代の政治文化・政治空間に関する研究会を実施した。①に関しては、担当内容に沿って代表者・分担者がそれぞれのフィールドで史料調査を実施した。調査では、藩士層の意見書類、商人・藩役人間の書簡類、それらを含む編さん史料を昨年度に続いて収集し、あわせて幕末期の民衆運動、明治初期の藩政に関する史料を対象とした（「仁政」「富国」論の社会的意味や近世政治文化の変容の把握が目的）。②に関しては、米沢藩・熊本藩等に関する史料の翻刻・研究データ作成を昨年度に続いて進めた。加えて、幕末～明治期の諸藩士らの交流関係や民衆運動の理念、「仁政」論の展開等について、文献・史料を収集して検討し、当該期における「富国」論の政治的・社会的意味を多角的な把握を図った。③２回のオンライン研究会を実施した。研究会を通して上記②に関わる成果として、白石烈「条約勅許諮問と諸藩周旋方」（第3回富国論科研研究会、2022年9月）、鈴木凜「日本近世・近代史研究における義民像と民衆運動―90年代以降の研究史を中心に―」（第4回同研究会、2023年3月）、小関悠一郎「19世紀日本における「仁政」思想の展開過程─研究史の検討と今後の展望─」（同）を得た。以上による成果は、小関悠一郎「近世日本の政治理念とその変容」（『明治維新史研究』21）などの論文発表により発信し、『永青文庫叢書 細川家文書 災害史料編』（吉川弘文館）のような史料集、『論点・日本史学』（ミネルヴァ書房）・『東北史講義 【近世・近代篇】』（筑摩書房）・『豪商の金融史』（慶應義塾大学出版会）等の一般向け書籍にも反映させることができた。
