新型コロナウィルスの蔓延により、昨年度実施できなかった丹波国山国荘地域での、大人数による古文書調査を、本年度こそ実施するつもりだったが、残念ながら本年度もそれがかなわなかった。そのため、昨年度と同様に研究の大枠は維持しつつも、個々の作業計画については一定の見直しを余儀なくされたが、この見直し方針のもと以下の作業を行った。① 文書目録の作成と古文書画像データの整理…研究代表者の坂田が過去に獲得してきた科研費による、山国荘地域の現地調査の際に撮影した古文書の画像データがかなりの量蓄積されているので、これらのデータを可能な限り活用するために、昨年度に引き続き、本年度も文書目録の作成作業と古文書の画像データの整理作業を鋭意進めた。具体的には、前者については研究協力者も含むメンバー全員が分担して作業に当たった。そのとりまとめと調整の役割は、パートタイム職員が果たした。後者については、パートタイム職員を中心に作業を進め、整理済みのデータを順次NAS（外部からアクセスできる外付HDD）にアップした。② ①で作成・整理したデータの共有による研究の推進…「由緒関係文書の作成時期研究班」と「由緒関係文書の作成主体研究班」の両班について、昨年度に引き続き、上記データを活用することによって各々の課題に関わる研究を推進した。③ 論集のコンセプト・概要等の確定…科研費の研究課題を踏まえた共著のコンセプト・タイトル・章立・各章(論稿)の概要についてとりまとめ、執筆者に正式な執筆依頼状を送付するとともに、各執筆者が論稿の執筆に向けた作業を開始した。④ 科研費研究成果報告書の刊行…科研費の研究成果報告書として、2冊の古文書目録を刊行し(研究成果報告書Ⅰ『江口喜代志家文書目録・河原林成吏家文書目録』、研究成果報告書Ⅱ『山国神社文書目録・鳥居剛家文書目録・高室美博家文書目録』)、研究成果の公開と共有に努めた。
