本研究は、1950～2015年の戦後期を中心に、将来人口推計を用いて2065年までの今後50年間の変化を展望し、戦前の人口統計と18～19世紀の近世人口史料を用いて歴史的変化をたどることにより、男女のライフコース変化を長期的視点から実証分析することを目的とする。本研究が分析対象とするライフコースとは、出生、結婚、家族形成、死亡といった人口イベントにより形成されるプロセスを指す。2022年度は、2021年度に行った死亡と人口移動の分析を継続するとともに、社会経済発展による変化が最も大きいライフコースイベントである結婚行動についての分析を中心に研究を進めた。死亡と移動については、18～19世紀の近世に焦点を当て、宗門改帳情報からミクロデータファイルを構築し、それを用いて男女の死亡と移動のパターンと要因の多変量解析を行った。その成果は内外の学会で報告した。一方、結婚行動については、初婚とその解消（離別・死別）そして再婚という一連の人口イベントにより遷移する配偶関係の年齢パターンと、それに影響を与える年齢別死亡確率を包括的に分析するための手法である結婚の多相生命表について検討を開始し、データファイルの構築を行った。ここでは特に、本来、期間データへの適用が想定されている結婚の多相生命表をコーホートデータである近世人口史料に応用するために、手法の修正と拡張を行った。さらに、多相生命表手法の（配偶関係別）将来人口推計への応用についても検討を行い、その成果を学会で報告した。また、2021年度に投稿した現代日本の男女の初婚パターンと要因に関する英文論文が国際学術雑誌に掲載されることが決定した。さらに、戦後のわが国の死亡率と出生率の変化のトレンドとパターンについて分析・考察する中で示唆された課題のひとつである新型コロナ感染症の出生率と死亡率への影響について、論文をまとめ雑誌に掲載された。
