We will create an internationally regarded Centre of Research Excellence that will help to better prevent crime and safeguard Australia. The research conducted in the Centre will strengthen communities and enhance Australia's security role in the Asia-Pacific region and more globally. The research will help policy-makers, police and security leaders to better understand how they might reduce the number and seriousness of threats to Australia and diminish the number of security and crime vulnerabilities. The benefits of the Centre's research will accrue to local communities and enhance Australia's economic, social and cultural wellbeing.
