We seek to analyze all water isotopes (1H, 2H, 16O, 17O, 18O) in free water and water extracted from Gypsum, Halite, and amorphous biogenic silicate in lacustrine and pedogenic samples from the Atacama Desert. The purpose of this study is to reconstruct the climate mean state regarding temperature and humidity, along with an empiric parameter for wind speed on old material dated with U-Th or U-Pb. These climatic variables are related to the isotopic evolution of free water and mineral-bound water during evaporation, as determined by the established Craig-Gordon equations.
