项目摘要

本研究は中国、韓国、台湾の３カ国の港湾都市を対象とし、コンバージョン建築を都市文化の継承方法の一つとして捉え、都市の経済や発展史などからコンバージョン建築の成立背景を整理し、事例の建築意匠の分析から、都市文化の継承手法としての総合的な知見を獲得することを目的とする。当初計画していた３ヶ年計画は、新型コロナウィルスの感染拡大の影響により十分な調査を実施できず、4年目となる本年度は、当初計画していた韓国の仁川、釜山に加え、台湾の基隆・高尾、中国の大連の調査を予定していた。しかし、依然として感染拡大の影響が収まることがなかったため、いずれの海外調査も断念することとなった。その間、文献による対象各国の都市的背景の整理を進め、上海や台湾に関しては、その研究成果を一部、書籍としてまとめ発表した。調査対象とする都市は、中国の上海・大連、台湾の高雄・基隆、韓国の釜山・仁川とし、それぞれが港湾都市として近代化による西洋化、工業化の影響を受けつつ、現在も先進的な都市として各国を牽引する存在となっている。現在は昨年度に引き続きこれらの都市に関する文献資料の収集と整理、分析を進めている状況である。一方で、我が国における港湾都市と比較した視点を持ち込むため、長崎や富山といった港湾都市の形成史や産業史の資料調査を並行して行った。中国の大連、台湾の高雄・基隆、韓国の仁川・釜山のコンバージョン建築の実態把握を行うために、事前調査として、昨年度から継続して書籍や建築デザイン情報を掲載するWebサイトを通じてコンバージョン建築事例の存在を調査し、それぞれの所在の把握を行なった。
