The projected book will examine the poetic influence of Stefan George on german literature. It will be the first systematic survey of George's enormous literary impact and will document his significance from the late 19th century up until the present time. The study is based on the applicant's previous research and publications, and is motivated by a number of new sources which shed new light on George's role as a poetic 'teacher'.
