本研究では、咀嚼の客観的評価は問題ないが主観的には満足していないという人に着目し、口腔内の機能的な因子と咀嚼の主観的評価の関連を検討することを目的としている。高齢者にとって食べることは、楽しみでありいきがいである。食事ができなくなるとQuality of lifeは大きく低下し、食事量や食品多様性が低下し、フレイルや低栄養の原因となる。本研究では、口腔内因子以外の外的要因（環境要因）を簡便に評価する質問票を作製することを最終の目的とする。2022年度の研究実施計画では、徳島大学病院歯科において、治療が終了しメンテナンスを行っている65歳以上の被験者に対して、咀嚼の主観的評価（咀嚼スコア、咀嚼のVisual Analogue Scale評価）と咀嚼の客観的評価（グミゼリーによる咀嚼能率検査）を行い、それぞれの中央値を用いてグループ分けを行ったのち、口腔不潔度、義歯の評価を行う予定であった。しかしながら、昨年度に引き続き新型コロナウィルス感染症の拡大の影響もあり被検者の確保が難しい状況にあった。現在は被験者を集めて咀嚼の評価を行っている最中である。今後は、本試験を行い本研究を遂行していく予定である。
