项目摘要

本研究の目的は、女性が収入を得ることが世帯内の意思決定プロセスにどのような影響を与えるか、カメルーンの農村を事例に検証することである。これまでカメルーン中央州レキエ県で実施した現地調査から以下のことが明らかになった。調査対象地域のカメルーン農村は、カカオの一大産地である。男性の多くはカカオ畑を所有し、妻を始め世帯員が無償労働でカカオ畑の管理、カカオ豆の発酵や乾燥の作業を行い、年に1回、カカオ生産者組合を通じて仲買人に売却し収入を得ている。一方、女性は自家消費用の畑でキャッサバやプランテーン、葉物野菜を育て、余剰を販売して収入としている。女性が収入を得る手段が農業以外に限られているため、女性にとって土地を確保することが生計の確保に重要である。経済力があれば女性が土地を購入することは可能だが、多くの女性にとっては難しい。女性が両親から土地を相続できるか確かではないため、法律婚により夫の土地を得ることが確実な土地入手手段となる。法律婚の契約のためには夫側が婚資を支払う必要があるが、婚資を支払わず事実婚を続ける男性も多い。事実婚の状態では男性が亡くなると土地も家屋も男性の親戚が相続するため、妻は土地を失う。そのため婚姻関係を良好に維持し法律婚に同意させることが女性にとって重要となり、夫に対して強く意見を言うことを躊躇させていた。令和４年度に、現地協力団体にインタビュー調査を依頼した。研究成果の発表は、1485th International Conference on Education and Social Science で、『HOW GENDER DIVISION OF LABOR AND GENDER NORMS INFLUENCE ON WOMEN’S LIVELIHOODS? 　A CASE OF FARMERS IN CAMEROON』のタイトルで行った。
