项目摘要

本研究の目的は、都市における社会的諸問題の「複合的」な「集積」および「拡散」を地図化することを通じて、「社会問題空間」の存在形態とその空間的な広がり、そしてそこで生きる人びとの生活上の困難の実態を、都市の階層構造という視点から明らかにすることである。そのために、メンバーによる定期的な研究会を複数組織し、社会問題論、都市論、部落問題論そして空間統計学等の以後の研究遂行に不可欠な関連諸領域に関する先行研究のサーベイを行い、また以本研究の基本的な枠組みを画定し、それをメンバー間で共有化する作業を行った。とくに、「社会問題空間」を検出するための最も基礎的なデータである国勢調査や住宅土地統計調査、就業構造基本調査等の大規模官庁統計データや各地域に固有の問題状況を明らかにするための基礎データである自治体の業務統計データなどをどのようにして収集し、整理・分析するのかということについて、議論と検討を重ねた。以上を踏まえて、基礎的な統計データの収集と整理は概ね終了（しかしデータの時系列的接続のための作業はまだ未完了）。現在は、具体的なデータの分析と「地図化」の作業にとりかかっている。なお研究会や作業の「成果」は内部の討議資料として蓄積されている。また、このような「社会問題空間」における人びとの生活の実態を、地域の問題状況に対応（対処）する人びとの日々の営みという視点から、いいかえれば地域における（広義の）「社会運動」という視点から、明らかにすること、すなわち「社会運動」に媒介された地域と社会問題空間の変容を明らかにすること、これも今回の研究の大きな課題であるが、この研究のために必要な資（史）料収集にも着手している。とくに、今回の研究の主要なターゲットである（旧）同和地区についての資料や行政データの収集は概ね完了している。ただし、地域の「歴史」的変容過程に関する史料の収集はこれからである。
