当該年度においては、コロナの影響もあり、当初予定していた対面の研究が実施できなくなったり、国際学会への参加、発表がオンライン開催になったりするなどしたため、予算は予定通りに執行できなかった。このような状況に際して、研究計画を柔軟に変更し、オンライン調査の実施や論文執筆・公刊を進めることに重点を移した。さらには本研究において当初目指した研究目的に合致する形で、コロナの影響を検討するサブテーマを設けるなどして対処したために、十分な研究実績を残すことができた。コロナ禍におけるツーリズムと心理との関わりとして、日本国際観光学会論文集に「コロナ禍におけるマイクロツーリズムの観光動機と観光地選択との関連」を公刊することができた。Annals of Tourism Researchには、セイバリングに関する論文"Savoring tourism: Exploring basic processes."が掲載された。さらに、休暇のどのような側面が幸福感につながるのかを示した“What Promotes the Happiness of Vacationers? ”がFrontiers in Sports and Active Livingに採択、公刊された。また、多様な対象へのツーリズムの効果を検証するものとして、家族を対象にした"Family tourism improves parents’ well-being and children’s generic skills." がTourism Managementに掲載された。この他、Tourism Economicsにおいて"Investigating farmer’s identity and efficiency of tourism-oriented farm diversification"が公刊された。
