项目摘要

本課題は、アジアと欧米の言語を比較し母子の対話のスタイルが乳幼児の音声や語彙の発達に及ぼす影響を調べることを目的とし、日本語、韓国語、中国語、タイ語、英語、フランス語（一部イタリア語）を実験的に比較し、母親と子供のコミュニケーションのスタイルの違いが初期言語発達に及ぼす影響を調べるものである。2020年度は立ち上げの準備にあてる計画で、国際共同研究メンバーが日本に集まる準備会議、海外の講演者を招聘しての国際シンポジウム、研究員を相互の研究室に派遣して実験準備や研究者間の交流を深める等を予定していた。しかし本課題が開始した2020年8月から年度末までの時期は、コロナ感染症の影響で世界的に外出や移動が制限されていた時期で、計画していた国際イベントは実施できず、研究員の雇用もできなかった。その為、予算の大半を2021年度に繰り越し、更に一部は部は2022年度に再繰り越しして、コロナの影響下でも出来ることを精査して研究を進めた。まずは国内外の共同研究者達とオンラインでのミーティングを重ね、各国の状況の情報交換し、対応策を練った。21年の夏までには、制限はあるものの被験者を呼んでの実験が認められる国も出てきた。そこで一部の国で対乳児発話の録音など一部の実験を開始した。大規模な予備実験が必要な実験については、代表者の日本のラボが中心となって予備実験を開始した。しかし、21年度中もコロナ感染症は収まらず、代表者の研究室でも感染する者が続出し、予備実験も度々中断を余儀なくされた。このため、予備実験の一部は予算を再繰り越しして2022年度に実施した。この期間、講演者の招聘や聴衆が多く集まる講演会の開催は難しかったが、Zoomが広く使われるようになったことを利用して、オンラインで開催するJEWELセミナーを実施することにし、21年12月までに4回のセミナーを実施した。
