项目摘要

本年度の前半は、古代ローマの叙事詩Bellum Civile（BC）の中世アイルランド語翻案In Cath Catharda（CCath）に於ける改変箇所の典拠探索に取り組み、所謂「12世紀ルネサンス」下で成立した作品同時代のBC注釈の影響を検討した。9月からはケンブリッジ大学で在外研究を行い、受入研究者Ni Mhaonaigh教授の指導の下で研究に取り組んだ。期間中には、ベルリン州立図書館を訪れ、未刊行のBC古注が含まれ、デジタル化されていない複数の写本の調査を実施し、CCathの複数の箇所に於いて、MS lat. fol. 34に現存し、しばしばラーンのアンセルムス（1117年没）の作と言われるBC注釈の影響を明らかにした。この結果は、前年度検討したオルレアンのアルヌルフのBC注釈（1170-1214年の間に執筆）の影響と合わせて、論文として発表された。後半は、CCathの未校訂写本の現地調査と、写本伝承の研究に取り組んだ。まずは、いまだ唯一のテクストであるStokes（1909年）に於いて、彼が校訂した4写本がα系統とβ系統に大別できることを示し、1写本以外が全て断片であることから、現状のテクストを用いての典拠探索には問題が残るということを確認した。続いて、ケンブリッジ大学所蔵の写本MS Add. 3082、トリニティ・カレッジ・ダブリン所蔵のMS 1337、ロイヤル・アイリッシュ・アカデミー所蔵のMS D I 1をいずれも現地で調査した。これらは順に、α、α、β系統に所属し、いずれも、Stokesの校訂本では報告されておらず、本文に採用されるべきと思われる異読を伝えていることが明らかになった。この成果の一部は、欧米各地のケルト学者を招き、ケンブリッジ大学で開催されたワークショップに於いて、口頭で発表された。

In the first half of this year, the ancient narrative poem Bellum Civile (BC) was translated into the middle ages. In Cath Catharda (CCath), the author explored the influence of the so-called "12th century narrative poem".
