昨年度は、本研究「近世東アジアの「征服王朝」にみえる都城空間変容の比較史的研究」の3年目だった。しかし、研究計画で予定していた現地調査をふくむ海外出張は、一昨年に引き続き、新型コロナウイルスの流行により、実現できなかった。しかし、一方で学術書一冊と、研究論文数編を公刊した。拙著『宋都開封の成立』は、総ページ数509ページに及ぶ大部の書籍であり、本研究に関連する研究報告である。学術振興会の研究成果公開補助金により、出版が実現した。とくに開封における郊祀儀礼や祥瑞の出現と、都市空間における宗教施設の配置や、政治問題とのかかわりを指摘したものであるが、本研究であつかう征服王朝の都城空間との比較検討に有用な研究である。また、論文としては、「呉の金陵府と南唐の西都江寧府」を公開した。この研究も、分裂時代の都城空間のあり方を、正統性の獲得や外交関係から明らかにしたものである。六朝時代には建康として、明清時代以降現代に至るまで南京として南中国の代表的な大都市について、ちょうどこの五代十國時代の研究は、日本では行われていなかった。したがって、オープンアクセスの紀要に発表したため、多くの閲覧者やダウンロードカウントを得た。また、宋代の都城開封についてのまとめの論文を、一般向けの雑誌（アジア遊学）に執筆したが、この論文は「宋都開封からの潮流１１から１３世紀における都城史の画期 」と題したもので、開封から元の大都いたる都城群を一定の分析視角から論じた試みである。本研究の現在の到達点を明らかにしたものである。
