本研究の目的は、これまで民俗学の中心的議論となってきた伝承概念を再構築し「学校のフォークロア」という新たな理論実践モデルを提示することである。方法としては〈現代〉沖縄を主な調査対象とし、東アジアの中に位置付けることによって、〈過去〉の伝承概念では説明のできない伝承母態の変容を〈現代性〉と〈場所性〉に着目し再考察する。事例として取り上げるのは、本来宗教とは無関係であるはずの〈学校〉という場で実践される地域文化伝承であり、具体的には学校で行われる祭祀儀礼、祈願、学校で祀られる神々、地域行事やPTA活動、教員組織の実態を対象とする。これにより、伝承母態の変容を近代化による衰退と見なす視点ではなく、コミュニティの生成と再編成の過程であると捉え、今まさに生きられている現実の生活世界の中から新たな伝承概念をモデル化する。そして「学校のフォークロア」を提唱することによって「地域学校融合型社会」の知の伝承のあり方を理論化する。その上で2022年度も、パンデミックにより学校を主体とした調査には制限があったため、可能な範囲内として愛知県、福井県、三重県、静岡県、京都府の神社、寺で合格祈願に関する現地調査、聞き取り調査、インタビュー調査を実施した。また、大韓民国で合格祈願に関する現地調査、聞き取り調査、インタビュー調査も実施した。調査に加えて、これまでの先行研究の整理及び把握、データの分析を行った。成果については次の2点を挙げることができる。1、現代日本の合格祈願の多様性 について調査を行いデータを収集することが可能となった。2、沖縄をフィールドとした多様な信仰のあり方について明らかにし、成果については新聞での連載記事、講演、学会発表等を通して一部社会に還元することができた。
