本研究の目的は、国際交渉における政府間の戦略的相互作用に焦点を与えながら、「報復関税合戦が繰り広げられるのはなぜか」について理論的に解明すると共に、WTOを中心とした自由貿易体制の維持に必要不可欠な国際的協調枠組みの在り方を提示することである。これまで、Grossman and Helpman (2021)をベースに、自らが属する社会的カテゴリーの行動規範に基づいて、有権者が選挙にて投票を行う場合、自由貿易に対する一国のスタンス（一国主義を重視するか、それとも国際協調を重視するか）がいかに形成されるかといった問題意識に基づき、本研究の基礎となるモデルを構築・分析した。令和4年度では、理論モデルの拡張を引き続き検討すると共に、データ解析による実証研究の準備作業を行った。一方、米中間に繰り広げられている貿易戦争の一因ともなった中国政府による研究開発補助金および強制的な技術移転の関連政策に関して、交渉ゲームの分析手法を取り入れながら、「それらが採用されるのはなぜか」について解明すると共に、多国籍企業や投資国の社会厚生等へのインパクトについても分析した。関連研究成果を論文「Strategic Potential of R&D-intensive FDI Subsidy: Host Government's Endogenous Policy Choice」（with Yingzi Long）にまとめており、現在修正・再投稿準備中である。また、中国企業のデータを用いて、環境規制が企業のイノベーションと環境パフォーマンスへどのように影響するのかについても分析し、関連研究成果を学術論文にまとめ、公刊することができた。

The purpose of this study is to focus on the interaction between governments in international trade and to clarify the theoretical basis for the maintenance of a free trade system at the heart of WTO. Grossman and Helpman (2021) provide the basis for the development of social norms for self-ownership, voting for those who have the right to vote, free trade for a country's social system (nationalism is important, international coordination is important), and the basis for this study. In 2004, the Ministry of Finance and the Ministry of Finance issued a report on the implementation of the project. One of the reasons for the trade dispute between China and the United States is that the China government has made relevant policies on research and development grants and forced technology transfer, and the analysis methods of communication and cooperation have been adopted.
