项目摘要

本研究は子育て世帯の時間制約及び移動制約に着目し、親子の交通行動のモデル構築への示唆を得ることと、貧困ひとり親家庭における行動の特徴を明らかにすることの二つを目的として行っている。まず親子の交通行動については、子供の養育が親の交通行動に与える影響の分析を行う。子供の養育や高齢者の介護などのケア労働は、多くの場合親の活動可能な時空間に強い制約をもたらすため、親の活動範囲及び移動能力の選択は、子供の有無が強い影響を受けるためである。また、子供の交通行動(移動を伴う活動)についても、親の移動能力や時間的余裕から受ける影響の分析を行うことで、経済能力・移動能力・時間的余裕と、子への人的資本投資への関係を調べる。例えば自動車依存度の高い地域では徒歩や自転車で安全に移動できる範囲は限られているため、親の送迎なしでは学校以外の教育・社交の機会が非常に限られたものとなりうるためである。さらに、ひとり親家庭、特に同居親族のいないひとり親家庭についても、子の有無が親の交通行動へもたらす影響と、親の移動能力が子の交通行動へもたらす影響を明らかにする。ひとり親家庭では、就労も家事労働も親がひとりでこなす必要があり、親の時間制約が二人親家庭よりも厳しい。よって、子供の送迎を外注できるほどの資金力がないひとり親の場合、子供の活動機会が制約される可能性が高いと考えられるためである2022年度は米国National Household Travel Surveyの2001年、2009年、2017年のデータの解析を行い、親の出張行動が子供の有無によってどのような影響を受けるかを明らかにした。また、在外研究先にて、American Time Use Surveyを用いた移動制約がもたらす時間制約に関する研究について議論を行うとともに、コロナ禍中に子育て世帯が受けた、食・住・教育への影響を分析した。
