地域金融機関の経営統合が、銀行の費用効率性、競争行動、リスクテイクの変化を通して地域の中小企業の行動や地域経済に与える影響の経済厚生評価を行うことを目的とする地域金融市場の需要・供給関数の構造推定のために、以下の準備を行った。店舗網が重複する銀行間の合併や店舗網が重複しない広域の合併、持ち株会社傘下銀行間の再編など様々なタイプの銀行合併と域外からの出店が観察された大阪府に所在する中小企業の財務データ（2007- 2018年）と本社所在地情報（緯度・経度）、取引先金融機関店舗の所在地情報（緯度・経度、実際に取引のない銀行の最も近い支店も含む）と金融機関の財務データを接続したデータベースを整備した。中小企業の住所情報と国土交通省が公表している位置参照情報の接続に時間がかかるため、分析対象を大阪府に絞った。また、企業の資金需要関数と潜在的な貸し手も含む銀行の融資供給関数を同時推定するためのモデルを考案し、地域金融機関の合併が、銀行のコスト効率性やリスク分散の度合いと銀行間のコンテスタビリティ、企業の無形・有形資産への投資行動、効率性に与える影響など、地域金融機関の統合が地域経済に与える影響を検出する準備を行った。既存の研究とは異なり、企業の近隣に支店を持つが実際には融資をしていない潜在的な貸し手も含むデータとモデルにを用いてモデルを推定することで、経営統合が融資競争に与える影響の検出の精緻化を図っている。
