以下の研究を遂行し，知見を得た．★教習所で実車による実験を実施した際に，ストレス計測による負荷の推移を検証した．その結果，認知機能の落ちている高齢ドライバーと健常高齢ドライバーとの間に，心理的負荷がかかるタイミングが異なることが明らかになった．教習所においては，健常高齢ドライバーはS字や車庫入れ等，技能を伴う運転を行なっている最中にストレスを感じていたのに対し，認知機能の衰えた高齢ドライバーは，技能を必要とする場面に至る前に緊張状態となり，S字や車庫入れの最中には緊張状態が解けていることが明らかとなった．また，認知機能の衰えたドライバーはS字や車庫入れで脱輪しても切り返さずに抜けようとする傾向も見られ，緊張状態を持続して運転できていない傾向が見られた．★高齢ドライバーの行動範囲と駐車場選択行動について調査し，心理的負荷を抑えた運転行動について把握した．高齢ドライバーに限らず，現状の25％程度の駐車料金にならない限り，自転車等のラストワンマイル交通手段が利用できる環境であっても目的地に最も近い駐車場を選択することがわかり，都市計画で謳われるフリンジ駐車場の実現可能性に対する課題が明らかとなった．また，高齢ドライバーはある程度目的地が限定されていることから，駐車場についても縁石にぶつけて停止する等，自身にとって楽な駐車方法を実践していることがわかり，駐車場デザインにも安全上の対策が必要であるとの示唆を得た．また，成果の公表を通し，★海外での交通事故状況から，高齢ドライバーの運転に関わる環境について意見交換した．高齢ドライバーの問題が海外でも顕在化しており，自転車乗用中の事故も問題視されていることを確認するとともに，今後の実験への示唆を得た．
