项目摘要

情報の哲学は、近年生じた最も新しい哲学分野であり、「情報」という概念についての歴史的・理論的な探求をその目的としている。このような新たな哲学分野の登場により、これまでの哲学史を情報の哲学という観点から再解釈することが可能になった。このような視点は、それまで論理学・認識論・形而上学といった別個の観点から考察されてきた諸問題に対して新たな光を当て、「情報」という概念を中心とした統一的な理解をもたらすことができる。本研究課題は、以下の二つの目的を持つ。第一に、カントやロッツェといった18世紀後半から19世紀にかけての思想家たちの「概念形成」の理論を情報の哲学史として再構成することである。第二に、以上を遂行することを通して、情報の哲学の基礎の構築に寄与することである。本年度は、昨年度までの研究結果を進展させ、カントとロッツェという二人の哲学者の論理思想の連続性について研究を進めた。この結果として、特にカントの「図式論」と呼ばれる議論とロッツェの概念論の間には、（１）歴史的且つ実質的な繋がりが見いだせること、（２）この連続性は、現代のデータベース理論における「関係モデル」を概念枠組みとすることで明確化できることが明らかになった。この結果は、さらに、本年度はより一般的な視点から「概念」の構造一般について研究を進めた。共同研究を通じて、哲学史・生物学・統計学・情報科学など、様々な分野の事例を集めることにより、我々が「概念」と呼ぶものを通底するある種の数学的構造について一定の見通しを与えた。こちらの結果についても、上述した「関係モデル」を中心とした概念枠組みと、それを拡張した数学的構造によって、現在様々に提案されている概念構造の理論を統一的な仕方で解釈できる可能性を示した。
