项目摘要

本研究の最終年度における到達目標には、ハワイ準州内の捕虜収容所設置と閉鎖時期をおおよそ提示し、そこに日本人捕虜・沖縄人捕虜それぞれの移送経路が捕虜体験とともに時系列に重ねられることを掲げていた。このうち、「ハワイ準州内の捕虜収容所の設置」状況の詳細は、コロナ禍のため米国国立公文書館における再調査を見送り、2019年度に同館で収集した資料の分析に努め、1944年6月以降と従来考えられていた以前から設置の準備が行われていたことを確認した。他方、収容所の閉鎖時期は、オアフ島２箇所に関して言えば、写真資料から1948年と推定することとした。次に、ハワイへ送られた戦争捕虜の移動経路をめぐり、国内・国外に存在する多角的な資料収集に努め、以下のように実施した(昨年度の計画の代替え案を含める）。国会図書館・東京本館憲政資料室にて米陸軍戦史センター編纂の資料群、内閣府沖縄戦関係資料閲覧室にて沖縄戦・引揚関係資料、昭和館図書室にて旧引揚援護局資料、国立公文書館にて留守名簿の調査。米国アマースト大学図書館に資料のデジタル化を依頼し収集した。沖縄県内では、県公文書館・県立図書館にて市町村字史の戦争体験の記述を調査し、捕虜体験者２名に聞き取り調査を行った。さらに、ハワイの収容所に限らず、沖縄人捕虜移送の背景へとスコープを広げ、国頭郡金武町町史編纂室にて屋嘉収容所関連資料の調査、同郡伊江村教育委員会の協力を得て、伊江島の日本軍兵士の収容所跡地（推定）と民間人収容所の踏査と聞き取り調査を実施した。その他、アウトリーチ活動として、沖縄県立図書館が例年開催している歴史講座で講師を勤め、ハワイや沖縄の捕虜収容所で歌われたという民謡２曲のライブ演奏とのコラボレーション企画を実施した。後日、講演の録画は同館のサイトから配信され、さらに講演録画を編集した英語字幕版を監修・制作し、同館へ寄贈した。

The final year of this study is to reach the goal of setting up a prison for Japanese prisoners of war. The details of the "Prisoner of War in the State of Texas" were sent to the National Public Library of the United States. The analysis of the data collected in the same museum in 2019 was confirmed by the examination of the previous "Prisoner of War" in June 1944. The closure period of the other party and the accommodation office is two years old. The photo data is estimated from 1948. In addition, there are various data collection efforts in China and abroad, and the following are implemented (including the replacement plan of last year). The National Assembly Library/Tokyo Main Library Constitution Data Room provides data on the compilation of Army history, the Cabinet Office's Public Relations Data Reading Room provides public relations data, the Showa Library Library provides data on the old Public Relations and Defense Bureau, and the National Public Library provides research on the remaining books. The University of Michigan's data collection An investigation was conducted on the accounts of the war between the city, town and village history in Okinawa Prefecture, the Prefectural Public Library and the Prefectural Public Library, and on two prisoners of war. In addition, we conducted a survey on the data related to the housing development of the Kanemachi History Compilation Office in Kokutou Prefecture, a collaborative effort with the Ie Village Education Committee in the same prefecture, and a survey on the location (presumed) of the Japanese military soldiers 'housing development of Ie Island and a survey on the information of the civilian housing development office.
