项目摘要

2 年の期間をもつ本研究課題では、前年度に主要な在外研究や発表を終えたうえで、今年度は博士学位論文の執筆に専念し、博士の学位を取得した。当博士論文においてあらたに形にした研究は、おもに以下の二点である。1．多文化主義研究の現代的展開についてのレビュー本研究は一貫して多文化主義研究の再検討を課題としてきたが、前年度はカナダに滞在し、多文化的状況にかんする具体的事例を調査してきた。今年度はこのように絞った研究をいまいちど、よりおおきな文脈へ位置づけなおし、本研究の事例の意義を明確化することを課題とした。この課題に応えるため、以前から収集してきた多文化主義研究の文献を整理しなおし、とりわけ「日常多文化主義」という研究動向を組み入れたレビューをおこなった。この動向は多文化主義の「原理原則」を抽象的に問う研究群に対し、「多文化」の人々が相互に出会い交流するより日常的な場面から「共生」の姿をとらえようとする研究群であり、同様の関心をもつ本研究や共生共存にかんするフィールドベーストの研究にとって重要な意義をもっている。2．先住民運動の事例分析前年度におこなった、先住民に率いられた反パイプライン建設運動の調査結果をまとめ、分析した。この分析でとくに本研究が着目したのは、当該運動における先住民と非先住民の出会い・交流の空間形成である。先住民－非先住民間の「和解」が目指される今日のカナダにおいて、カナダ政府・企業がすすめるパイプライン建設に反対し直接行動をとる当運動はしばしば、「和解」に対立する敵対者として否定的にまなざされる。これに対して本研究は、この運動空間に実際に参与し観察をおこなうことで、運動があらゆる和解を否定するのではなく、先住民の抑圧を条件としながらおこなわれる政府主導の「和解」を批判し、異なる日常的和解の回路を構築しようとしているさまを描きだしたのである。

Case Analysis of the First People's Movement Survey Results of the First People's Movement This study focuses on the formation of communication space between indigenous and non-indigenous peoples during the movement. The "reconciliation" between the indigenous people and the non-indigenous people refers to the direct action of the opposition to the construction of the city, the government and the enterprise, and the opposition to the "reconciliation". In this study, the conditions for the suppression of government-led reconciliation were discussed.
