项目摘要

当初の研究実施計画では前年度の補完調査と現地でしか入手できない論文の収集を2度目の渡航調査で行う予定であった。しかしながら2020年度中は新型ウイルスの流行により再渡航が実現せず、2021年度半年間の採用延長を行ったが結果として再調査は叶わなかった。その為、前年度に収集したデータと日本から追加収集可能なデータ・論文を使い、ベナン共和国の公教育において、ライシテと「伝統文化」が関係者にどのように解釈をされどのように教えられているのかを明らかにするべく研究を続行した。着目をしたのは、ベナンの宗教・文化都市として知られるウィダに設置された伝統宗教ヴォドゥンの結社が設立した私立認可小学校での教育である。当該校は他宗教の児童・教員を多く受け入れ、ライック（非宗教）な国家カリキュラムに従っている。ヴォドゥンの教義の伝授はイニシエーションを受けた者に限定されるという秘匿性の高いものであるため授業の中では教義教育は行われていない。当該校は結社の子どもたちの結社活動と学業の両立、加えて地域の子どもたちに自分たちの文化・慣習・倫理を伝えることを目的に創設された。学校独自の教育としてヴォドゥン由来の知識だが実生活に役立つ伝統知が教えられ、ナショナルカリキュラムに沿った授業のなかでは教材として自分たちの伝統文化を伝授している。さらに、授業外でのいくつかの活動で、教員と児童、教員同士、児童同士がそれぞれ協同しており、学校ではあるもののまるで共同体のような人間関係が構築されている。このような日常生活からかけ離れていない学校の在り方は他宗教・他民族の人々をひきつける一因となっていた。ベナンのライシテは学校という場に多様な人々を緩やかに包摂しており、そこで語られる理論は排除ではなく共存であった。児童の多様化が進む日本の教育現場において、このベナンでの共存の在り方は参考になり得るものである。

In addition, the activities outside the classroom, teachers and children, teachers and children, and the relationship between the community and the people are constructed. The daily life of the school is different from that of other religions and other nationalities. The theory of the school is to eliminate the co-existence of many people. The diversity of children is advancing in Japan's educational scene.
