项目摘要

最終年度である本年は、ヨーゼフ・ボイスの芸術活動を観客の反応を含めた同時代の文脈に置き入れることで、その政治的作用の一端を明らかにした。また2021年のボイス生誕100周年にあたって、展覧会や関連する出版物に携わった。なお今年度は昨年度に引き続き、コロナウイルスの感染状況を勘案してアーカイヴ調査ではなく文献調査に注力した。昨年度まではナチズムといった政治的主題との関連が明らかな作品を調査対象としてきたが、今年度は1960年代のパフォーマンスを対象に、その政治的含意を当時の観客による受容から明らかにした。観客の芸術作品への参与という問題は、昨年度から取り組んできた近年の社会参与型芸術の検討においても基礎となる観点であり、その意味でボイスと近年の芸術動向とを比較するための土台となる。一般にボイスの個人的経験や儀式的な外見から解釈されてきたボイス初期のアクションは、実際には同時期に制作・実施された他の芸術家によるより政治的な作品や、学生を中心とする観客を強く意識したもので、その意味で暴力沙汰にまで発展していた同時代の政治的興奮に対する反対像として企図されていたことを指摘した。この内容はボイス生誕100年に際して開催された展覧会「ボイス＋パレルモ」の関連講演にて発表し、加筆修正の上でその報告集『ボイス・リーダー』に寄稿した。また同展のカタログには、ドイツでの100周年関連の出版物等も踏まえ、ボイス関連の年表と文献表を制作した。年度途中での制作のため必ずしも包括的な紹介には至らなかったが、『美術手帖』や慶應大学アートセンターのブックレットに寄稿した文献・研究紹介とともに、多面的なボイス研究の現状を取りまとめた。その際特にボイス関連アーカイヴ（ヨーゼフ・ボイスアーカイヴ、ボイス・メディアアーカイヴ）や「ボイス研究賞」などの動向に着目し、彼の制作活動の現代性や近年の芸術への影響を示した。
