项目摘要

本研究は、都市と農村を横断する女性たちのパルダ実践を明らかにすることを目的としている。パルダ（pardah）とは、南アジア地域に広く存在する性別規範のことであり、狭義には女性のヴェール着用、広義には男女の生活空間の分離を指す。今年度の4月から7月においては、2019年度から2020年度に実施した長期フィールドワークのデータをもとに、投稿論文の執筆を行った。投稿論文においては、パキスタン・パンジャーブ州における農村J村において、女性たちの顔覆いの方法が変化したことを主題として、パキスタン社会の変容と女性の装いの変化の関係性を論じ、日本南アジア学会が刊行している学術雑誌『南アジア研究』に投稿した。現在は再投稿に向けて原稿を加筆修正中である。さらに、8月末から11月中旬にかけて、パキスタン・パンジャーブ州の都市及び農村にて3度目のフィールドワークを行なった。今回のフィールドワークでは、本研究における調査村J村における結婚式に参加し、参与観察を行なった。参与観察では、J村における女性が他村に嫁ぐにあたっての慣行を記録したほか、周囲の個別の人間関係のなかで、結婚式が執り行われていく様相を詳細に描いた。さらに都市部においては、女性団体への聞き取り調査を実施した。女性団体への調査では、政府組織、宗教政党団体、女性の権利推進団体に分類した上で、それぞれに対してパルダと女性の権利の関係に関するインタビューを実施し、現代パキスタンにおけるパルダの様相を総合的に捉えることを試みた。
