项目摘要

2021年度は, カラスのオスを用いて，以下の知見を得た。1. 鳥類の尿中オキシトシン計測系の確立オス３個体による同居実験において，うち2個体に相手選択的に親和関係が形成された。母仔やつがいの社会的絆を支える代表的なホルモンはオキシトシン（OT）であるが，OTがオス間においても親和関係の生理基盤として関与しているかを調べることは，協力性や利他性の進化を理解する上で意義深い。そこで本年度は，ELISA法を用いたカラス尿からのOT計測系を新規に確立した。尿中からのOT計測は鳥類初の試みである。本成果は，麻布大学の茂木一孝教授との共同研究として，学術論文雑誌に発表した（Seguchi, Mogi, Izawa, 2022)。2. オス間親和関係形成に伴う尿中オキシトシン変化３個体同居経験の前後に設けた２個体同居期間において，毎朝各個体の排泄物を採取した。３個体同居を経て親和関係が形成された組み合わせ，および形成されなかった組み合わせの尿中OT濃度を計測することで，親和関係の形成に伴い末梢OT濃度が上昇するかを検証した。結果，親和関係を形成した組み合わせのみでOT濃度が上昇した。この上昇は優位個体と劣位個体の双方で生じた。優位と劣位それぞれに着目し，オス間親和関係の神経内分泌メカニズムの一端を明らかにした例は，哺乳類においても報告がなく，社会性動物における同性間親和関係の神経内分泌メカニズムにおける新たな発見である。オス間親和関係は従来，「凝集性」や「親和性」という概念を用いて説明されてきた。本研究課題では，オス間親和関係は，優位個体と劣位個体の攻撃・服従行動の抑制と，親和行動の促進という2つの要素によって構成されると仮説を立て，行動と生理のレベルで検証した。3年を通じ本仮説を支持する結果が得られた。今後は親和の結果生じる社会的排除個体にも着目し，さらなる発展へと繋げる。

In the future, the exclusion of individuals from society will result in the development of social harmony.
