前年度に岩手県内の民俗芸能関係施設を調査したところ、関係施設は大規模なものではなく、地域性が豊かで小規模なものが多いことが分かったため、他の地域でもさらに丁寧に探すこととし、今回は岩手県に並び民俗芸能が盛んな秋田県で調査を行った。秋田県では、県立博物館には民俗芸能を含めた無形の文化財に係る展示はなかったが、各市町村で市町村内の無形の文化財に関する展示が存在し、また重要度に応じて専門の展示施設が存在した。例えば秋田市は竿灯を中心とした民俗芸能伝承館があり、他に市内の無形の文化財の展示が行われている。ユネスコの無形文化遺産の土崎神明社祭の曳山行事についても紹介されているが、こちらは民俗芸能ではなく風俗慣習にあたり、別途会館が存在する。このことは、民俗芸能・風俗慣習が、その是非はともかくとして無形の民俗文化財として同位で認識されていることを示すものと考える。また、由利本荘市は平成17年に近隣８市町が合併した市であり、当初は本荘市の資料を中心に展示してあったものが、合併後市内所在となった芸能についても言及している。まいーれは番楽を主軸とした施設であるが、合併後に開館している。展示施設とその内容については、市町村合併の動きも併せて検討する必要を見出した。さらに、民俗芸能関連施設の名称として、「資料館」はもとより「伝承館」「会館」等が使用されている。無形の文化財の施設として「山車会館」は全国的に存在しており、こちらはより観光需要に合わせているものが多いが、名称についても分析を考えている。
