本研究は、戦前の少女雑誌『少女の友』におけるジェンダー規範の越境について、考察するものである。宝塚少女歌劇団(1940年より宝塚歌劇団と改称)に関する掲載記事、また「少女小説」に描かれた「異性装」に注目した。 分析対象とする資料は全国に散逸しており、各地の施設(東京都内、大阪府内等)に、部分的に保存されている状況である。新型コロナウィルス感染症の流行が依然として続いていることから、慎重を期して県外出張に代えて、郵送での資料の収集、並びにオンラインによる探索を進めるという方法を取った。この制約は新型コロナウイルス感染症の流行が始まってから続いており、遅れが累積している状況である。特に、戦前の資料は、所属の大学の所在地である、島根県内には殆ど所蔵されていない。成果に遅れが出るのは不可避であった。しかし、本年度は一定の進展があった。研究開始時から探索を続けていた戦前期の資料を、古書店を通して複数収集することができた。複写物の取り寄せによる資料の収集も引き続き進めた。このようにして収集した資料によって、一定の見取り図を立てることができ、分析を進めることができた。また、課題名にも挙げている「少女小説」がどのようなメディアか、当時の 「少女小説」の動向や特徴から総体的に把握することにも引き続き努め、 この成果の一部を論文、「「少女小説」とはなにか」としてまとめることができた。この論文の書誌情報は、項目10.「研究発表(令和4年度の研究成果)」に示している。
