项目摘要

令和４年度は昨年に引き続き医学論文や脳科学者によって書かれた書籍の精読をおこなった。アドバイスをいただいているミネソタ大学の脳科学者と大体月に２回のペースでZOOMを通してミーティングを行い、読んだテキストの不明な点などを質問し、知識を深めていった。特に有益であったのが、Lisa Feldman Barrettのemotionについての研究について幾つかの論文を読めたことであった。Joseph LeDouxのemotionの研究と相反する部分と一致する部分とあり、興味深かった。また、BarrettやLeDouxを含めた数人の脳科学者が"Fear"をどう定義するか議論したレポートが読めたことも今後の研究を深めていくために役に立つと思う。昨年の研究実績の概要でも触れたが、perpetrator traumaにフォーカスし、アジア系アメリカ人作家Jessica Hagedornの作品を分析した論文が_Women Writing Trauma in Literature_というアンソロジーの中一章として2022年10月に出版された。perpetrator　traumaはguiltやshameというemotionにも関連しているので、その部分をこれからまた丁寧に考察していきたいと思っている。また、2023年1月のModern Language Associationでは原爆の脳への影響を研究した日系アメリカ人医師James Yamazakiの原爆症研究についてのlife writingについて発表した。トラウマと脳についてまた違った視点を投じてくれるので、彼の研究についてもより深く考察したいと考えている。
