项目摘要

本研究課題は、国民国家の形成期（成長期・統合期）および国民国家の存続の危機（解体期・離散期）において、文学が求める表象は何か、どのような主体がどのような方法でその表象を創造するのかについて、18世紀末から20世紀初頭のハンガリーの文学を事例として明らかにしようとするものである。研究対象となる時代はいわゆる「長い近代」であり、ハンガリーは多くの政治的社会的変化を経ながら国家形成と「ハンガリー人」としての国民形成をおこなってきた。本年度の研究を２つに分けてその概要を以下に説明する。一つは、この「長い近代」全体を俯瞰してハンガリーのナショナリズムがどのように形成され、変化していったかについて、言語文学運動を中心に概観することである。18世紀末に始まるハンガリー・ナショナリズムは、まず庶民の話しことばに過ぎなかったハンガリー語を近代的な書きことばに育てること、次にそれを用いて国民に教育を行い、文学を創造し、文化学術から行政司法まで行える国家の基盤を整備するまでに至った。19世紀半ばの革命を経て、革命の敗北から出直しとなった19世紀後半には、ハンガリーは歴史的領土の一体性を維持し、他の諸民族にもまたハンガリー国民としてのアイデンティティを持つことを求めたため、ハンガリー人と同様に民族意識を高めつつあった諸民族の強い不満と反発に遭い、やがて君主国崩壊への道をたどることとなった。これらの過程について『ハプスブルク事典』（丸善出版）の項目にまとめた。もう１つは、19世紀半ばの革命詩人ペテーフィの生誕200周年というアニバーサリーの機会でもあることから、ペテーフィの生涯と作品、および日本におけるペテーフィ作品の読まれ方について考察した。同時代の民謡収集についても、「エルデーイとクリザー19世紀なかばの２つのハンガリー民謡集―」として口頭発表および論文にまとめた。
