「『頻繁な聖体拝領』の真の著者」は、本作品を巡る論争の重要テーマである。イエズス会を中心とする反対勢力は、実の著者はヴァンセンヌに囚われの身であったアルノーの師サン・シランであり、著書は敬虔な仮面の下に教会転覆につながる危険な「サン・シランの格率」を含んでいたと攻撃していた。サン・シラン捕囚時代の正確な情報は、『頻繁』の生成研究にとって必須である。ところが、ポール・ロワイヤルの歴史記述においては投獄直後の主塔と次の住居までしか記載がない。1950年代、第三・第四の居室があったことを伝える新資料が発見されたが、謎めいた記述が多く、それらの位置はこれまで同定されてこなかった。本研究者は2019年度に、最後の居室がルイ13世の王館であることを突き止めた。現在の王館は、ルイ14世の王館の復元であり、前王時代の建物を基礎としている。しかし、実はルイ13世の王館は建造の経緯、全体的構造も含め、現在もヴァンセンヌ城建築史上においては謎の多い部分である。コジャノは2014年に、建造の紆余曲折に関する復元仮説を立てたが、定説部分を含めポール・ロワイヤルの証言との矛盾が複数ある。2020年度は1610年代前半の王館建造に関する古文書を再検討し、2022年度は定説が拠る最重要資料である、1650年代初めのI. シルヴェストルによる版画を検討した。3年ぶりに再開できた仏現地調査では建築士の助言も得ながら、最終的に王館の階層構造、サン・シランが住んだ１階部分の床・窓の高さ、版画の作成時代、版画に描かれた廃墟の意味の解明に成功した。サン・シランが王館で旧女王用の寝室（当時は王の補助寝室）を充てがわれたことは、彼の教説の正当性の間接的な裏付けであった。それにもかかわらずポール・ロワイヤルがそれについて沈黙を守ったとすれば、それは『頻繁な聖体拝領』刊行後の論争における戦略的な意図によるものである。
