项目摘要

16世紀のフランスにおける諸侯と王権との關係について、ブルボン公を事例に研究を進めている。まず、昨年第72回日本西洋史学会で研究報告を行った、ブルボン公シャルル３世とその妻シュザンヌの遺言書に関する研究では、その後さらに遺言書作成の背景について検討を進め、遺言書作成の目的の中には、ブルボン家の所領が確実にブルボン家の者によって継承されるということを、当時のフランス国王フランソワ1世に伝えることがあったことを明らかにした。また、研究報告の際に遺言書の証人、遺言執行人に関するプロソポグラフィ研究が必要であるとの指摘を受けた。確かに、こうした点からブルボン公が当時保持していた人的ネットワークを明らかにし、そしてそれが国王が持つ人的ネットワークと関連しているのかなどについて検討することで、当時のブルボン公と国王との関係は、より具体的に浮かび上がってくると考えられる。この点に関しては、現在研究を進めている状況である。また、別の科研（基盤研究B 中近世アルプス地域の空間的・社会的モビリティー：境域の政治・宗教・社会の動的展開）の協力も得て、ブルボン公シャルル3世がフランス外の勢力と、どのような関係を築いていたのかについての研究も進めている。この研究では、１５２３年にブルボン公がフランスから神聖ローマ帝国内へと逃亡した逃亡ルートに注目し、その際にどのようなルートを辿り、またなぜそのルートを選んだのかの理由を探ることで、逃亡ルートの背景にあるブルボン公シャルル3世が当時持っていたフランス外勢力との人的ネットワークを明らかにしようとした。研究は一定の成果を得ており、神聖ローマ皇帝やイングランド王ヘンリ8世、そしてゴンザガ家をはじめとしたイタリアの諸勢力とブルボン公との人的つながりが徐々に明らかになっている。
