令和4年度には現地での踏査を行い、関係諸機関と今後の研究について議論を進めた。新型コロナウイルス感染症の影響で止まっていた研究過程を進めることができた。その具体的内容、意義、重要性は以下の通りである。（1）研究代表者・船引はベトナムのハノイでベトナム歴史博物館、国家大学人類学博物館、国会博物館で資料収集を行い、ベトナム考古学院においてベトナム人の共同研究者と南部のオケオ遺跡における分析資料の確認を行った。研究代表者・船引と分担者・久保はベトナム南部ホーチミンの南部社会科学院でこれまでの研究総括を行い、年代測定結果に関するミニセミナーに参加し、オケオでの研究発表を行った。（2）研究代表者・船引はベトナム中部のフエで海岸平野の砂丘地帯に位置するMy Khanh遺跡の踏査と現地におけるサンプル採取を行い、フエ科学大学で立教大学の山形眞理子教授の仲介によりNguyen Van Quang博士と遺跡立地と海岸線の移動について議論した。また研究代表者・船引と分担者・久保はベトナム中部のミーソン遺跡等を管理するサーフィン文化・チャンパ博物館の責任者Nguyen Van Tho氏と協議の結果、来年度ボーリング調査を行うことで同意した。これで本研究の目的のひとつであったボーリング調査のめどがつき、さらに本科研費以降にも中部での調査の方向性を示すことができた。(3) 研究分担者・米澤は地形面の推定プログラムを作成して最適な地形面の推定を試みた．対象とする地域はベトナムの都市部（ハノイ）であり，現実の地形と作成したDEM（デジタル標高モデル）を検証した．作成したDEMはベトナムの天然資源環境省（MONRE）が測量した標高測量データ約5,000点から出力し，精度も約2mメッシュのDEMを作成することができた。
