2022年度は以下の2つの研究を遂行した。1. 1980年代以降のアメリカ金融部門の変化に関する4つの事実を定量的に説明する動学的一般均衡モデルを構築した。本モデルの特徴は、家計が、個別ショックを受ける個別株と、複数の個別株を組合せたポートフォリオからなる投資信託を、それぞれどの程度保有するか意思決定する点にある。本研究では、1980年代以降のアメリカ金融部門が成長した理由は、金融のイノベーションや税制の変化により、家計の資産の中での個別株の割合が減り、投資信託の割合を増えたことにあったとする。2022年度は、個別株が個別ショックに加えて受ける経済全体のショックをどのようにモデル化するか検討を行った。複数の個別株を組み合せたポートフォリオからなる投資信託では、個別ショックは大数の法則により消えるが、経済全体のショックは消えずに残る。経済全体のショックのモデル化の方法として、(1) 先行研究におけるアグリゲート・ショックとしてモデル化する方法と、(2) 複数の島からなるモデルを構築し、島へのショックとしてモデル化する方法の2つがある。現実の経済において、経済全体のショックは定量的に大きくはないこと、(2)の方法が分析が容易でかつ直観的な解釈が可能となるため、主として(2)の方法を採用することとした。あわせて、偏微分方程式の数値解法に関する検討も行った。2022年度は、本研究の初稿を完成させて、1月にはセミナーでの報告を行った。2. 本研究では、交付申請書に記載した研究目的である「長期の経済格差」に関し、19世紀以降のイギリスと中国の間で「大分岐」と呼ばれる1人当たり所得の大きな格差が生じるようになった原因についても、理論的研究を行った。2022年度は、この研究をセミナー等で報告し、そこでもらったコメントを元に論文を改訂する作業を行った。
