(a)現地調査の中止と計画の変更：当初の現地調査予定では、令和１年度に暫定的な計量分析を行うためのデータ収集と、令和２年度に暫定的分析結果についての現地研究者等との討議、令和３年度には研究成果の学会報告と学会誌への投稿のための最終確認を行う予定であった。しかしCOVIT19によるコロナ禍により、令和２年からカンボジアへの入国が事実上できなり、予定してた現地調査を中止した。令和４年には、コロナ禍によるカンボジアへの入国制限は大幅に緩和されたが、日本への再入国は厳しく制限されたままのため、日程を短期間に抑えた現地調査は出来なかった。オンライン等による意見交換やデータ収集も、コロナ禍による現地金融機関の経営への混乱によって難しくなった。(b)データベース拡充： (a)の事情から、令和２年度と令和３年度の現地調査ができなくなったため、中央銀行や国際金融機関のホームページからデータを収集した。しかし令和２年度と令和３年度のデータはコロナ禍の影響による異常値であることや、ホームページ上のデータでは小項目までの詳細が分からないため、計量分析に適切でない。(c)計量分析結果の発表：データ制約と信頼性、現地聴き取り調査の欠如というという問題が残っているが、暫定的な分析結果として、カンボジア商業銀行に関する銀行資本構成の決定要因に関する論文と銀行市場の競争度の推計に関する論文を大学紀要に発表した。(d)以上のように、当初に計画していた現地調査とデータ収集作業ができなくなったため、本研究を令和４年度まで1年間延長した。しかし令和4年度においても、日本再入国に厳しい制限が残ったため、予算的に限られた短期間で現地調査を行うことは不可能であった。このため、本研究を令和５年度まで再度延長することを申請し、申請が認められてた。
