本年度は，研究実績の概要は下記の2点である。1つ目は，2000年以降，日本の株式市場のみならず世界各国の株式市場に大きな影響を与えた「COVID-19」という非常に大きな外的要因に着目し，株式市場にどのような影響を与えるかについて，各企業の現金保有に着目した研究である。その際に，「COVID-19」は予測することの出来なかった外的要因であると考え，比較的近い時期に発生した外的要因で，企業や投資家にとって予測することの出来たと考えられる「消費増税」の影響と比較することで，外的要因が株式市場に与える影響について考察した。この研究については，“Measuring the Value of Corporate Cash Holdings against Predictable and Unpredictable Negative Shocks”（共著）として研究会での報告を行い現在投稿中である。2つ目は，株式市場における財務要因以外の外的要因として近年着目されている「ESG」が株式市場にどのような影響を与えているのかを考察した研究である。「ESG」の中でも特に，日本企業の女性活躍という側面に着目し，女性活躍に積極的な企業からなるポートフォリオとESGに積極的な企業からなるポートフォリオ，株式市場全体のポートフォリオを比較することで女性活躍を推進することの重要性を株式市場が評価していることを確認した。この研究は， “When does the Japan Empowering Women Index Outperform its Parent and the ESG Select Leaders Indexes?” (共著)として発表した。この研究は，学術誌“International Review of Financial Analysis”のvol.85に掲載された。
