2022年度は、まず文献調査およびオンライン資料・情報の収集・分析を継続した。オーストラリアの文化・教育政策および多文化主義に関する書籍、論文の追加収集と、連邦および州政府、マスコミ、研究関連団体および社会活動団体などによるオンライン資料・情報の収集を実施し、「アジア」との関わりを中心に読み込みと分析を行った。2021年度に引き続き、コロナ禍の状況も意識しながら慎重に資料を収集し、分析した。また、2022年秋以降、所属大学よりオーストラリア調査出張が許可される状況となった。これを踏まえて、2023年3月に9日間の現地調査を実施した。訪問地はシドニーおよびキャンベラである。現地では、多文化主義、アジア研究、文化・教育政策等関連文献資料の収集を、ニュー・サウス・ウェールズ州立図書館および国立図書館を中心に実施した。また、複数の大学において、大学におけるアジア研究および教育の位置づけと動向を中心に、関係者からの聞き取りを実施した。2023年3月のシドニー・キャンベラ調査は、2020年3月に予定していた内容であり、3年の間を置いてようやく実施できたものである。この現地調査により、本研究の分析考察および時間を置いたことによる研究計画の見直しにおいて、重要な知見と示唆を得ることができた。ここ3年のコロナ禍における状況についても、聞き取りおよび現地滞在によって多くの情報を得た。また、今後の調査実施に向けて、新たな人的ネットワークを構築することができたことは、大きな収穫であった。コロナ禍後初めての調査として、十分に充実した内容であったといえる。
