今年度は3年ぶりに、次の3大学を中心に現地調査をおこなった。①ケルン大学(ノルトライン・ヴェストファーレン州)、②ロイファナ大学(ニーダーザクセン州)、③ミュンヘン工科大学(バイエルン州)。いずれも本研究にとって重要な事例であった。①はドイツを代表する大規模大学の一つであり5万人を超える学生が在学するが、教職課程履修者も1万人近くを数える。この大学の教職課程の特徴は、「教員養成センター」が養成教育の中心に位置づけられていることである。「センター」の役割は、狭義には、経済-社会科学部、数学-自然科学部など5学部に所属する教職課程履修生の教育実習を行うことである。しかしそれにとどまらず、教職をめざす学生に対して継続的で系統的な履修指導を行っている。「センター」の創設は2011年であるが、以来今日まで着実にその機能を拡大・強化してきている。②は、5学部からなる比較的小規模な大学であるが、教員養成の伝統校である。この大学で教員養成の中心となっているのは、2008年創設の陶冶学部(Fakultaet Bildung)である。この学部が全学の教職希望者に対して陶冶諸科学、教科教授法および関連する専門科目を総合的に提供している。この実績から、この学部が、近年各地で試みられている「教育学院(School of Education)」の役割を実質的に最初に確立したものと評価されている。ただしこの大学では、ギムナジウム教員養成課程は設けられていない。③は、理工系および医学系の8学部を擁する著名な工科総合大学である。この大学では、ギムナジウム教員、職業学校教員などの養成を行っているが、それらは2009年に創設された「教育科学部」を中心に行われている。物理、化学、数学などの教員志望者は、この学部に入学し、教職関連の学修を行いながら、それぞれの関連学部において専門教科の学修を行うことになる。
